The Global Tour Planning course includes a mandatory, three- to five-day trip to a popular tourist destination. This trip is scheduled sometime during the eight-week course and is required to pass the course. A course fee of $700.00, which covers expenses for the trip, including lodging and transportation to/from the destination, is required.

The Travel Agent Proficiency (TAP) test* is a basic competency test that measures the entry-level knowledge of travel agent professionals and serves as a first step toward occupational professionalism. Andover College is one of only two authorized test sites for this testing in the state of Maine. There is a fee for this test.

† However, the College cannot guarantee a student's eligibility either to take this exam or become certified. A student's eligibility may depend on his or her work experience, completion of high school (or its equivalent), not having a criminal record, meeting other licensure or certification requirements, or the program or College itself having appropriate accreditation or licensure. Externship sites may themselves require a criminal background check or medical examination.
